Like the more familiar NFT images, music works the same way, but the link will jump to the digital music file. In this way, musicians can also sell their music through the NFT channel to earn more money.

In a statement provided to Ars Technica, Winamp said:

The latest version of Winamp allows music lovers to link their Metamask wallet to Winamp through Brave, Chrome or Firefox. Then it connected their favorite music, the NFT, to the venerable player.

Winamp supports audio and video files distributed according to the ERC-721 and ERC-1155 standards, and is rolling out this new feature for Ethereum and Polygon/Matic protocols.

Among other fixes, IT House has learned that the new version reduces memory footprint, increases streaming music bandwidth, updates OpenSSL to 3.0.5, optimizes the underlying codecs, and more.
